Mountaineers

Faithful God, I pray for the six people who were arrested in Charleston, West Virginia on Monday for demonstrating at Senator Shelley Moore Capito's office, asking her to vote against the Senate's tax-cut/healthcare bill. Their names are Rev. Jim Lewis, Kayla Parker, Joe Solomon, Bill Price, Terry Pickett, and Paul Dalzell. I am grateful for every person who protested, marched, made phone calls, or faxed representatives in the effort to stop this legislation. As these six were resisting in my beloved Mountain State, which has become deep red, I am particularly moved by their courage and witness. Bless them, dear God. Amen.
